Why twelve dollars?: It is about what the gas to the office costs, one way. We do not make the trip, so the twelve stays in the account.
Where exactly is the office?: Wyoming. A gravel turnoff, a mailbox on a post, a building behind it with the blinds down. Whether the truck is parked out front is a thing you would have to drive out and see.
Who is the agent, singular?: One person. That person is frequently somewhere else, which in this state is most places.
Somebody drove out with papers for me. What did they find?: A door, shut. Wind, pronghorn, a long stretch of nothing on the way back. The papers count as delivered whether or not the door opened, and it did not.
Do you let me know when something turns up?: Knowing would require someone to be there when it turned up. See the question before this one.
What is the most you would ever pay out if this goes sideways?: Three months of fees. At $12 a year that is $3 if it goes sideways inside the first ninety days, and nothing after, since you paid the whole year up front and there are no fees in any later quarter. The $3 stays here either way. It is about a gallon of gas.
Is there a phone?: There is a phone. It is in the building. The person is not.
Does it come around again next year?: No. One year, one time. When it runs out the state notices before you do, and the state does not send a card.
How do I quit?: You already have, on a date twelve months from when you started. There is no form for leaving because there was no form for arriving.
Only Wyoming? Truly?: Only Wyoming, and not all of it. The office is in one spot and the state is the size of a small country with the fewest people in the union. We do not travel. Most days we do not go outside.

Does Wyoming allow an agent like this?: The Wyoming page quotes the statute, what the state does about an agent that is not there, and the fee to come back. We put it on the page so it would be somewhere. We have not been by to read it.
Is this an actual outfit?: Actual price, actual terms, actual statute, actual consequences. The service is the one thing out here that is not real, and it is the one thing you would be paying for.
